This Privacy Policy explains how Rocking Tech Ltd ("Rocking Tech", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use the Metrics+ website and service ("Metrics+" or the "Service").

We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Personal data we collect

Account and billing data — your name, email address, and the payment details you provide when you subscribe (card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers).
Alert contacts — email addresses (and any other contact points) you add to receive monitoring alerts.
Enquiries and feedback — any information you include when you contact us, such as your email address and the content of your message.
Email engagement — whether you open our emails and which links you click.
Usage and technical data — your IP address, browser version, and how you use the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Monitoring data — the websites and endpoints you choose to monitor, and the results of those checks. This is generally technical data about websites, not personal data; you should not enter unnecessary personal data into monitoring or status-page fields.

2. How we use your data and our lawful bases

We use personal data to:

provide and operate the Service, including running checks and sending the alerts you request (lawful basis: performance of our contract with you);
take payment and manage your subscription (performance of our contract; compliance with legal obligations such as tax and accounting);
respond to your enquiries and provide support (legitimate interests; performance of contract);
understand and improve how the site and Service are used, and keep them secure (legitimate interests);
send service and account communications (performance of contract) and, where relevant, occasional information about the Service (legitimate interests, subject to your right to object).

We will not sell or rent your personal data, and we will not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

3. Analytics

We use analytics software to understand how visitors use metrics.plus — for example which pages are visited, how long is spent on them, how visitors arrived, and what they click. IP addresses are anonymised before being used for analytics processing, and we do not use analytics data to identify you or combine it with other data sets to identify you.

4. Sharing your data

We share personal data only:

with service providers who process data on our behalf to run the Service (for example hosting, email/alert delivery, payment processing and analytics), under contracts requiring them to keep it secure and use it only as instructed;
where required by law, court order, or to prevent or detect fraud or other crime;
in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, where the recipient will be bound by this Policy.

5. International transfers

We store personal data in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) where possible. Some providers (for example analytics) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

6. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law:

account and subscription data: for the life of your account and then as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes;
email subscription data: until you unsubscribe;
enquiry and feedback data: up to 5 years;
access log data: deleted after 365 days.

7. Data security

We design, build and run our systems to keep your data as safe as possible, in transit and at rest, and we maintain technical and organisational measures to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure. We require any third party that processes data on our behalf to keep it secure. We continuously test and monitor our controls.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

be informed about how your personal data is processed;
access a copy of your personal data;
have inaccurate data corrected;
have your data erased where there is no longer a justification for keeping it;
restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances;
data portability where applicable.

9. Cookies

Functional cookies — to remember your preferences, such as language.
Analytics cookies — to understand how the site is used, as described in Section 3.

Non-essential cookies are used only where permitted, and you can manage cookies through your browser or any cookie controls we provide. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

metrics.plus may link to other websites. This Policy applies only to metrics.plus; we are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to, so please read their policies.

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date above, and material changes will take effect when posted unless a later date is stated.
